What is the leak
costing you a year?

Choose your kind of business and where it loses clients, money or time. Type your own numbers. See what it adds up to in a year.

More clients

The phone rings while the team is busy, and the caller rings someone else.

£25,740

a year, at these numbers

The sum: missed calls a week × 52 × share that were new business × share you would have won × what a client is worth.

This is the size of the leak, not a promise of what a fix wins back. A fix rarely closes all of it.

What to count: Ask your phone provider for last month’s missed calls, then ring ten back and ask what they wanted.

The sums

How each figure is worked out.

Every system pays in one of four ways: more clients, more money per client, money kept, or time back. Time only counts when it ends in money, so the time sums multiply hours by what an hour costs you.

The calculator can be set to your kind of business: clinics and healthcare, property sourcing and investment, financial advisers, insurance brokers, solar and energy installers, construction and trades, ecommerce and retail, media and production, training and education and marketing agencies. It puts that industry's biggest leaks first and uses its own words.

The starting numbers in the calculator are example figures, not results or averages. The answer is the size of the leak in your business. What a fix recovers is set out in the report from our paid audit, which prices each problem. Not sure where to start? The free Business Systems Scorecard takes five minutes.

How do I work out the ROI of automation or AI for my business?

Start with one leak, not the technology. Count how often it happens, put a value on each time, and multiply up to a year. For example: missed calls a week × 52 × the share that were new business × the share you would have won × what a client is worth. That figure is what the problem costs you, and it is the most a fix could be worth.

Is the figure what I will get back?

No. It is the size of the leak in your own numbers. A fix rarely closes all of it, and what it recovers depends on your business. Our paid audit is where each problem is priced and the likely gain from each fix is set out in writing.

What if I do not know my numbers?

Use your best guess to see whether the leak is worth a closer look, then count properly for two weeks. Each sum on this page says exactly what to count and where to find it.

Why does a time saving need a pounds figure?

Because hours saved are only worth something if they become money: a hire you did not need, or more clients handled by the same team. So the time sums multiply hours by what that hour costs you.

Does the calculator change by industry?

Yes. Choose your industry and it puts the leaks that usually matter most for that kind of business first, uses your words (patients, deals, renewals) and starts from example figures of a sensible size. The examples are made up to show the method. We hold no industry averages, so the only figures that count are the ones you type in.

Do you keep the numbers I type in?

No. The sum runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or stored.

What should I do with my figure?

If it is small, leave it alone or fix it with a tool you already have. If it is large, bring it to a discovery call. We will tell you whether it is worth an audit, which maps how your business runs and prices each problem.

Got a figure worth fixing?
